Terri and I were raised by wonderful Christian parents who did MANY things right.We went to church every Wednesday and Sunday and participated in Sunday School, revivals, VBS and choir.However, when it came to the issue of sex, our parents assumed just like many that having a relationship with Jesus was enough. We never had “the” conversation and as a result made many decisions that have forever impacted our lives.We want to break this cycle for the next generation and those to come.
Terri and I feel very strongly about talking to mothers and daughters about sex.Unfortunately, only 25% of parents have any kind of conversation about this topic with their teens.Many parents feel inadequate talking about this because quite possibly they never had “the talk” with their parents either.So, as a result they don’t know what to say or how to say it.Because of this lack of communication, teens often learn about sex through friends, magazines, you tube, and other sources.Many wind up having the sex conversation after it’s too late.
Bridging the Gap is an experience like no other. Our goal is to break down the barriers that exist between mother and daughter by first educating you about sexual integrity in a godly environment.Then, we will help you further break down the barriers by giving directed times of interaction and conversation. These times will serve as a starting point for your journey towards long-term meaningful communication.And, if you already have a great relationship, this will help to further bond you together!

She felt the call on her life to start FWM, Inc., after being approached by teen girls seeking positive activities. Cheryl has traveled the country and lived in seven different states while contracting out to hospitals as an x-ray and cat scan technician.She was recently married to David and resides in Blue Springs, Missouri.

Terri has been working as a marriage and family therapist since 1999. She has spoken to many different groups about sexuality and relationships. She currently serves at Advice and AidPregnancyCenter as a volunteer. Terri lives in Olathe, Kansas, with her husband Mark and daughter Claire.
