Hi girls, I never started the book club for the new book b/c I was afraid you wouldn't participate b/c I KNOW I didn't put together the Beauty Bucks page as quickly as I thought I was going to get to it...I'm sorry!! So, tell me your thoughts about another book...I know what I want to do for the Beauty Bucks (which is gift cards from several options) now so are you still interested in a new book or no?

There is a really good fiction series called the "Millie Keith" series. It's kind of like the American Girls, but are totally Christian & really well written. Here is a link to book one: http://ibistro3.jocolibrary.org/uhtbin/cgisirsi/xeNe3CxkkD/CENTRAL/170790114/9 Also in the fiction category, the Sophie books by Nancy Rue. Here is book 1 on that: http://ibistro3.jocolibrary.org/uhtbin/cgisirsi/xTfCEUgLRQ/CENTRAL/170790114/9 They are not too 'heavy' so great for summer reads. But as I am a boring old mom (LOL)so I'll see if my teen will post a kid's eye perspective for you. Oh, and in the non-fiction category, don't miss, "Do Hard Things" from the homeschooled Christian guys who started www.TheRebelution.com. Blessings! -jane

OK, mom, here I am to post my perspective... Millie is a really awesome book. I often have a really hard time putting it down! Also it adresses issues we all have- when not to speak up, whether you should do the right thing even if no one approves, and the all important romance questions. Beyond that I also like Case for a Creator by Lee Strobel and Case for Christ by the same, and The Fallacy Detective and The Thinking Toolbox by Hans and Nathaniel Bluedorn, but I doubt that's the kind of thing this book club is about...
